This treatment can improve skin texture. Expect skin to become more luminous, hydrated and nourished, firmer and with improved texture.
PRF is a natural aesthetic treatment that can rejuvenate your face or under-eye area, or effectively treat hair loss by stimulating regrowth. A series of treatments is often advised to achieve the best results. Treatment Summary

PRF uses your own blood, which is processed in a centrifuge to separate platelets and other plasma components including a fibrin matrix and white blood cells. Platelets and fibrin are rich in growth factors that help boost the skin’s collagen production. Because PRF releases slower than some alternatives, it can have a longer-lasting anti-ageing effect
“I had this treatment done because I wanted something completely natural, and since it used my own blood I knew that it would be. I was amazed at the results, especially on my décolletage which was very sun-damaged.”
This treatment can improve skin texture. Expect skin to become more luminous, hydrated and nourished — firmer and with improved texture.
You will be invited for a medical consultation to assess your suitability for this treatment.
A small amount of your blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge. This separates red blood cells from plasma rich in platelets, fibrin and growth factors. The resulting platelet-rich fibrin is re-injected into the treatment area. It may be administered via multiple micro-injections (like mesotherapy), directly into lines or wrinkles (similar to a filler), or deeper into the dermis (like a volumiser). The process is comparable in comfort to other injectables; a topical anaesthetic cream may be applied beforehand. Some practitioners combine PRF with other “self-heal” treatments (e.g. microneedling) to enhance results.
Immediately after treatment, there may be some redness or swelling at the injection site, which should fade quickly. Some bruising may occur where the blood was drawn — this too should subside. Aftercare instructions include avoiding aspirin or anti-inflammatory drugs.
This is not generally a one-off treatment; a course is usually recommended. It may take up to six months for full benefits to show, though skin texture and tone improvements can become noticeable within three weeks. Full collagen regeneration can take around three months.
Every PRP Hair Loss treatment at Dr Joney De Souza Clinic begins with a comprehensive consultation. During this appointment, Dr Joney will take time to understand your goals, assess your skin condition and discuss the areas you would like to improve. He will explain how PRP works, what results you can expect, and whether combining it with treatments such as microneedling or LED may further enhance your outcome.
Once your personalised plan is agreed, a small sample of your blood is gently collected and placed into a centrifuge to isolate the platelet-rich plasma. The skin is then cleansed, and a topical anaesthetic may be applied to ensure comfort. Using precise injection or microneedling techniques, Dr Joney introduces the concentrated growth factors back into the skin to stimulate repair, boost collagen and promote healthier, more radiant tissue. The procedure is safe, natural and minimally invasive, with little discomfort.
After your PRP treatment, you can usually return to your normal day straight away. Mild redness, swelling or sensitivity may occur, particularly if microneedling was used, but this typically settles within 24 to 48 hours. As the growth factors begin to work, the skin gradually becomes smoother, firmer and more revitalised.
Dr Joney will provide tailored aftercare advice, including avoiding strenuous exercise, heat treatments and active skincare products for the first 24 to 48 hours. Many patients choose to book a series of sessions for optimal results, with improvements continuing to develop over the following weeks as collagen production increases. With regular maintenance, PRP helps support long-term skin quality, leaving you with a fresher, naturally rejuvenated appearance.
